Mike Murray

Professional Experience

Mike Murray qualified as a Chartered Surveyor at the respected City of London firm Gooch & Wagstaff in 1992.

He subsequently held positions at the UK’s then largest property consultancy Chesterton plc for some 10 years, including 2 years as Managing Director of 120 strong Asset Management division. He was Director of the investment fund origination team for Chesterton Structured Finance, through whom he gained FSA qualification.

Mike joined strategic land developer Wharf Land Investments with former British Government cabinet minister David Mellor at its inception in 2003 as Managing Director, and subsequently moved all his activity focus to Causeway Land in June 2011.

Mike is Cabinet Member for Property and Regeneration and board member of the Didcot Garden Town implementation board at Vale of White Horse District Council in Oxfordshire. He was formerly Cabinet Member for Planning Policy with responsibility for delivery of a new Local Plan providing for 20,000 new homes. He is past Honorary Secretary of the Conservative National Property Advisory Committee and stood as a 2005 Parliamentary Candidate in Gower (the best performing non-target seat in Wales). He served on the Court of Assistants of the Honorable Artillery Company for 2 years.

He is married with four children and lives in Oxfordshire.
