Ragnar Ottosen
Member of Board of Directors of ”Saint-Petersburg Cleantech Cluster for urban environment”
Ragnar Ottosen was born on July,12 1954 in Trondheim, Norway. In 1983 R. Ottosen graduated from University of Bergen with Master's Degree in economics. He continued his education in Ivanovo State Power University where he studied energy audit of heat and fuel consuming installations and networks.
Since 1985 Mr. Ottosen, as an Executive Officer of Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, has been working on the development of energy projects and addressing issues of energy market functioning. Since 1992, Mr. Ottosen has been acting as an adviser to the Norwegian Ministry of Oil and Energy on deregulation of the Norwegian electricity market.
Mr. Ottosen worked as an adviser to the Board in different companies with a focus on business development issues, options and forward/futures markets development, risk management, investments in the energy efficiency sector and renewable energy sector. Mr. Ottosen developed methods and systems of risks management in the electricity markets and implemented risk management practice and strategy in power companies as well as in trading and distribution companies in Europe.
Since 2003 Mr. Ottosen has been acting as an adviser on marketing and investment strategy of a number of Russian energy companies, including Russian hydropower company RusHydro. Mr. Ottosen is an adviser to the Norwegian Ministries on electricity markets issues as well.
From October 2014 to the present, a member of the Board of Directors of the International Consortium "St. Petersburg Cleantech Cluster for Urban Environment".
Mr. Ottosen is a Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Norwegian partner company Greenfuel AS, a Chairman of the Board of Directors Swedish company Alfakraft AB and a Chairman of the Board of Directors Norwegian company Bull and Bear Trading AS.
Mr. Ottosen is married and has three children.
